Many of us feel the need to “fake it till we make it.” But why do we sometimes feel like we’re faking it? Reflecting on our values can clarify what lengths we’ll go to in order to succeed.

  • Today’s media has a fascination with individuals who took fake it till you make it to the extreme. The results can be disastrous when the scheme falls apart. Research one of these modern stories. Examples include Billy McFarland (who organized the Fyre Festival), Anna Sorokin, and Elizabeth Holmes. In your journal, summarize how they interpreted/applied fake it till you make it. Can you see where they’re coming from? Where did they go astray?
