Navigating LinkedIn

If you've never used an online networking site, LinkedIn can seem a little intimidating at first glance. Even if you do have experience with sites like Facebook or Twitter, you'll still need to take some time to learn how to use LinkedIn's features.

Account Settings

Here, you can access your account settings, navigate to the LinkedIn Help Center, and more.


Whenever someone adds you as a connection (or accepts your request to connect), you'll see that information here.


Here, you can see your recent notifications. For example, if someone views your profile page, you'll see that information here.


Here, you can see your recent LinkedIn messages.


Your homepage will appear whenever you sign in to LinkedIn. From here, you can see recent posts and updates from your connections and the companies you follow.


Your profile page is what other people will see when they find you on LinkedIn. From here, you can edit your profile information, add a photo, and more.


From here, you can look for other people you know on LinkedIn and add them as connections.


From here, you can use the Job Search Tool to look for job openings that have been posted by companies and recruiters on LinkedIn.


You can use the search box to look for just about anything on LinkedIn, such as connections, job openings, company pages, and more.
